dp tuner/trans question

dp tuner/trans question

after the install of my dp last night, noticed that in the 80 eco setting my trans runs at about 134 degrees, when i drop it back to stock setting it drops back to 120ish is this ok? figured it was normal, just wanted to check. thanx!

Thats fine with DP. You are pushing more horses and the trans and EGT will get a little higher. When I am pulling a heavy load, my trans goes to 200* when I am climbing a big hill. You are good.

At what temp should a guy back off at with his EGT's and Trans ???

EGT-dont sustain 1250+ for longer than 20-30 seconds

Trans, once you see about 220, you need to be pullng ove to let her cool down or you might find yourself walking the rest of the way home

Damm.... I can hit 1000 in no time flat !! I hope that improves with the 4" exhaust ! I haven't seen much higher than 150 on the trans... Its built up pretty strong though... Thats good .. thanks for the info Nic

That's normal. My EGTs spike up pretty quick, then slow down. I recently had mine over 1400, but you can't keep them that high or stuff starts melting. The pistons are aluminum, which melts at about 1220 F -- short bursts of well over that are okay, but keep them short. Sustained temps should be <1200, IMHO.
