Somebody within the last couple of weeks performed the "HOT PEDAL MOD"
and there were schematics. I saved that post and put it where I put everything else that I don't want to lose.
I think you are talking about Robbgt he had the pics you are looking for
Me thinks your right. I went ahead and did it from memory & not sure if it's right. I'm really not that impressed with my results. I'll wait until Robbgt comes riding the trail.
be very careful when you do this mod. when i tried to do mine i trashed the tps and was lookin' at $750 for a new throttle petal. thank god for friends or else i woulda paid that for a new petal. LoL
I lost the thread too so I am not too sure about this but didn't TJ say something about switching a bolt out to a 6mm instead off messing with the tps?
here is the stock stop. its just a pin with a peened over end. Grind off the end and remove the rod
After removing the stock stop I replaced it with I think a 6mm bolt and double nutted it. If you still need more voltage from the TPS you can grind a notch in the bolt or hog out the holes and mount the bolt farther out. Just don't got over 4.7 volts on peak TPS voltage or you set a CEL.

How did you do that? Tell us so we don't do the same thing.
how hard is it to take the pedal out? what u got grounded over to the right?
Pedal is easy to get out. 3 13mm nuts and two connectors.
The ground I think if for some of my gauges. I can't remember.
The mod allows more voltage to the PCM from the TPS. Up to 4.7 is ok. Many stock pedals only get around 4 volts so in theory this will give you more throttle on the top but I don't feel much difference. Just makes me feel better knowing I am getting everything possible.
The normal method is the reposition the TPS but this also changes the low (idle) voltage as well which can result in a very touchy throttle. Moving the stop take away the possibility of messing up the TPS
TJ. your losing me. Bending that tab so that the throttle doesn't have to travel as far to get the micro switch to activate can/will raise the voltage?
no sorry. I forgot to tell you to notice the red bolt the second pic. that is the mod. remove the rusty pin in the first pic and replace it with the red bolt in the second pic.
