Me and a buddie of mine are trying to fix his van. Last night he was driving it an hit a couple pot holes less then a block from his place, as he was pulling in his drive it stopped running still in drive! we have tried pressing the pedal to start it no luck, even the reset switch on the fuel pump an still nothing! everything is getting power an just sits there and cranks an cranks! this is our work truck an need to get it fixed a.s.a.p! if any of you have any advice or things we can try an do would be greatly appreciated, also the cehck engine light did come on after it died in the drive way an is still on!
no i dont believe he has! want fuse should i look for to make sure its not blown? im going to go over there tomorrow an help him with it an hopefully get it running.. so if its not a fuse what else should i check an do? an thanks redford
how can ya tell if the relays are bad? an lets say there all fine an working order where would we go from there? sorry just like to be able to get out there an if the relay are fine move to something else to narrow it down instead of having to get on hear an wait till someone replies, ya know? but once again thanks redford for all your helps so far!!!
i just talked to him an he said he checked them this morning an even switched a few around since they had the same numbers an such on the relays an still nothing worked, he end up buying a crank an cam sensors since they told him that could be it from auto zone. he is not gonna be back around till mid afternoon so wont be able to change them n see if thats it or not till then!
CPS is possible, this would prevent the spark plugs from firing, or would fire at the wrong time. Put a multimeter on the COP input to see if you are getting voltage to fire the CO and spark plug....or, pull one COP and plug, ground the electrode against the block and crank the engine. Observe to see if you have spark.
Check to see if you have fuel pressure. Use a gauge, or use a multimeter at the fuel pump line, or disconnect the fuel line, turn ket on and crank (watch it, fuel will come out fast if this is OK).
Is it possible water got in the fuel tank? Is the gasoline good?
Timing - CPS should take care of that.
Air - probably OK, unless something got down the intake.
well we changed the crank an cam sensor an still just cranks! going to change the fuel filter tomorrow an try an get an ohm reader an see what we can find out! what should the ohms be at?
Not being a wise guy or anything but are you sure it has gas, even if the gauge says so open the tank and shake the vehicle and listen. I have seen people, including myself beat their head against a wall for hours just to find out its out of gas!! And if its real low the bumps may have stirred up dirt and clogged the filter.

Have you had any luck, curious minds want to know!
Sorry have not been on lately! An we have not messed around with the van much, just did a big hardwood job an started another one! But im sure we will mess with it this weekend an i can fill you all in.. Thanks
