I found a 1976 F150 ranger that I plan on using as a parts truck, I want to use the bed, doors and front clip except the grill on my 79 F250 4X4. I was just wandering if all that stuff will fit and if the older fenders will with the grill I already have, I also was wandering if the bed mounts will be the same. I will have to save the front fuel door and the tool box on the passenger side, Is this stuff hard to swap over, this will be my first attempt at body work thanks for any help.

Everything from 73-79 will interchange
I think the bed mounts might have to be redrilled because they did change the width of the frame rails back there when they put the gas tank back there
but you should be able to do anything that needs to be done with little to no experience in doing so
I might be interested in that 76's complete grille assembly if shipping is not to harsh?
I live in Lockport NY 14094
but anyways Yea, you should be good to go
the grilles will interchange too you just have to drill a few hole for the 76's headlight buckets
get back to me, my names Rick
Take care and good luck
Yep, they will all work. Everything is interchangeable from 73-79 F100-F350. Of course there are some special circumstances, but with what you want to do, no problems. Everything will bolt right on with no mods.
The differences would be for our highboys (73-77 F250 4x4s) and some super camper specials. The frames being narrower and having to redrill. The 78-79 F250 4x4s are the same as everything else.
Thanks for the help guys pretty much what I thought but I had never done it before. The truck goes to auction april 24 mabey I'll steal the 460 for my truck too, Rsalter I will let you know about the grill if I get the truck, the grill is dented right below the hood release but other than that it looks pretty good.

Thats cool, that is not a big deal to me,
it can be tapped back out and I dont build show trucks
I just really like the grille on my 76 and want one for my 78 Bronco that I will be doing after this truck
Thanks Johnboy , have a good one
Whats nice with cabs is that there is knockouts already there to drill out for the highboy frames. And on the rear bolt holes on the non-highboy beds there are the same knockout templates when you look through the underside bed rails. Of course it's on the rear bolts only and the other ones you have to just measure and drill.
