Question fan hitting radiator help

1993 f150 4X4 4.9 When I take off from a dead stop hard the fan rubs the radiator. I replaced the right motor mount and the left appears ok. What could cause the fan to hit the radiator only when accelarating??? any help appreciated...

Were any of the parts replaced in the past?

Water pump - may have longer impeller shaft
Radiator - may have more cores than original
Fan - maybe blades are bent or cracked
Fan clutch - maybe thinker than stock.

Usually, in a stock configuration, there is more than enough space between the fan and radiator.

first thing id check would to be if the radiator is secure and the shroud

if ya take off from a dead stop anything loose would move back!!!!!!!!

My 87 rubs on the shroud when I am going over rough terrain. I believe it is the front cab mount that is bad on mine.

check all mounts
engine, body and transmission
lock the parking brake and slowly apply power with hood up
watch for movement in the angine and body
engine rolls over is engine mounts
if it dips down in front then check the trans mount
if the rad. moves look to your body mounts

Radiator supports were known for rotting out like my '95 did to the point where the hood, grille, and both fenders are floating instead of being secured to the frame rails via the rad support...check by throwing up the hood rather hard and watching both fenders when the hood hits the stops...if they move, you need to replace your radiator support...
