gooseneck hidden hitch value???
hey guys,
i bought my truck last fall, and it has a gooseneck hitch in the bed. it has a feature, where you can retract the ball so it is not sticking up in the bed all the time, which is where i have it. i dont have the need for the hitch. i want to remove it and sell it, but i dont know where to begin to start for a price. i was thinking it would be pretty expensive to buy a hitch like this new, so maybe a couple hundred to sell it?
what is a good ball park figure?
thanks.

Do you know what the brand of the hitch is. Also remember that it is used when you figure a price. Normally if it would have a limited lifetime warranty it would be void, this will lower the value. I have a B&W turnover ball hitch set up for a Dodge truck (traded stuff and ended up with it), they sell for $300 new. I would think that it is worth $150, but haven't pursued the sale much.
Good luck.

If someone is going to spend what is new price for it, then most likely they would get a new one.
Keeping the hitch on the truck would increase its value some, plus if it is like the B&W hitch, it helps strengthen the frame in that area. Once you remove it then you have a hole in the bed that does nothing but looks like an eye sore. And some extra holes in the frame, less it was a no drill installation.
And then the day comes you just removed it, and a buddy calls and says I just got this trailer and will pay ya $ to tow it home for me.

They sell for around 300.00 New.I have one on my truck.
I paid 425.00 installed.
If i could have got it used for 100.00 i wouldnt have paid that for a used one i need to install myself. Not that i couldnt just my time is worth something and to pay the 125.00 install fee was well worth it.
I would suggest you leave it there.Or try selling it before removing. To see if you can even get enought to make it worth your time.Your time to you may not be worth much and be worth what you get for removing it.Then again it may be worth move than what itll take to remove
