I'm new here and thought I'd introduce myself. I'm from BC, Canada and am currently doing a freshening job on a 1975 f250 Highboy that my Dad has owned since the truck was 9 months old.
"Snort", as he affectionately named it years ago had basically no rust but had been sitting for a long time. I've put it in the shop for complete paint. It is currently powered by a 428CJ that dad built and has very few miles on it- maybe 10k or so but I'm thinking of doing a Cummins swap. It has a PTO winch as well as custom bumpers that Dad had made when the truck was young along with a HUGE plate steel rear fuel tank. It also has 9.00 series Michelin military tires. I'm not sure if the color is stock but it is a light blue- sort of sky blue. It was that color when he bought it but he bought it from the local Hydro co. and they may have ordered it that way from Ford.
I have such fond memories of this truck that I didn't want to see it leave the family so I offered to pay for the resurrection. So here I am. Let the learning begin...
BTW I'm looking for a good tailgate and possibly stock front and rear bumpers. Also a good headliner.
Welcome Pete, why dont you post up some pictures?
I would sure like to see this truck
what are you going to do with the stuff you take off of it?

With gas prices thru the roof and no sign of coming down anytime soon that cummins swap ain't a bad idea, i've toyed with the idea myself but i just can't bring myself to yank my FE even though it sucks gas like no one's business, even though diesel prices are higher then gas ($4.20/gal here) getting two to three times the mpg's with a diesel is starting to look very attractive to me.
I am leaning towards my own homebrew of fuel???? a type of Good Ol Moonshine / Alcohol
too much going on right now to even start thinking about that again right now though
Thanks for the comments. I'll post up some pics When it comes back from the bodyshop- should be a couple of more weeks. I'm gonna drive it like it is for now (w/the 428)- and it will only be occasionaly- until I can find the Cummins I want along with an NV4500 from a 2wd Dodge.

I'm in Delta, just south of Vancouver. The 428 was built and swapped in by Dad in the early 90's but saw very little use after that. It originally came with a 360 that Dad said was choked by emissions regs resulting in a dog of an engine. The 428 is no dog- it is a very thirsty camel. I doubt the mileage is much worse than the old 360 that was in it though.
