I'm pretty sure they will, but somebody will be along with more info on it for ya. I was thinking of going with the '08 with the step if they would fit.
Some one also put a 08 tailgate on as well... Can't remember who it was though.. They had to do some mod's to it so it would fit.. but got it on there !! maybe do a search for it.. it was posted on this forum a while back !!
You can put an 08 tailgate (lots of guys like the OEM ones with the "SUPER DUTY" in the tailgate, and/or the optional step) on if you swap the bracket on the driver's side of the truck.
Yep, 99-07 are the same. You can put an 08 tailgate (lots of guys like the OEM ones with the "SUPER DUTY" in the tailgate, and/or the optional step) on if you swap the bracket on the driver's side of the truck.
If you don't care about the lift assist in the 08 you don't even need to do that. The only problem is, the new gate will stick out about 1/8" past the tail lights.

Did you experience the tailgate sticking out on a 99-07 truck?
I've never heard that, nor seen that......seems to sit even to me?
I have never done the mod myself, but in looking at the pictures of people who have they all say they stick out slightly. No body ever says it is a big problem. Most say you will now know unless you are looking for it.
I have the step tailgate and on the right side bottom edge, attached to the hinge bracket is a finger that sticks out and moves between another piece mounted on the body itself. It could be that this has something to do with the step but since the two parts do not make contact with eachother at any time, I am wondering what the purpose of the two brackets is. (????)
