I have a 1999 Ford f-250 Superduty 5.4 with 124,000 miles and it doesnt like to start in the morning. When you crank it, it idles at 500 rpm and stays that way till it warms up, some times it dies on me, what might be the problem?
Mine's done the same thing a few times on really cold mornings the last couple winters. Mine will usually straighten out after a few seconds if I give just a touch of throttle while starting it. I have 109,000. It does fine all the other times so I haven't looked into it. However, I will now check my IAC.
I had a 99 f150 5.4 with the same/similar problem (or atleast it sounds). Start and die over and over. If i remember correct it was my MAF sensor. I cleaned the IAC in hopes of a fix before i took it in to the wallet weight loss center.
My truck also has a sloppy idle, like it seems to fire one side then the other its not smooth, it will start to rock my truck from side to side. Would a mass airflow sensor also cause this problem?
