I pulled my old wiring harness out of my 78 F250 Ranger LB the other day. The previous owner made use of black tape and zip ties as connectors. I am now after stripping his hours and hours of electrical taping getting down to wires that are bad. I plan on just running new wire in the old place on the few that are and properly soldering and connecting the rigged spots.
My question is this. The colors of the old wires are worn out and near impossible to tell. Not to mention I am partially color blind.
The Instrument Panel Printed Circuit Connector has numbers on it.
Does anybody know what each number goes to instead of going by color?
PLEASE DO NOT POST A PICTURE OF THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM!!
I have a book that says the same just fine.
I am asking if anybody has knowledge of each connectors correspondence by the numbers on the plug! Or just tips on how to read the plug without going by colors or numbers. Even side=.................. Odd side=......................
I am looking for everything. I would like to know what they all go to. I Know there is a company that has wiring kits available but I want to follow each wire that is melted or fryed and check the corresponding item with it to make sure it is properly grounded or not shorted itself.
Basically I want to have this knowledge for future reference when I move on to my next project.
I have a used harness available for free out of a 78 F150. I will prob use that but I want to make sure that I minimize this prob in the future.
