OK, just recently did the install of the ATS housing. I thought for kicks I would post some pics of the two housings, ATS and stock Garrett to show the differences. Hope someone finds this interesting.
I'm interested too! My turbo is 100% stock, so I'm thinking of doing this & maybe the WW to cure my surge, but I'll use the search feature and research when I've got time.
Is your turbo otherwise 100% stock?
Have you noticed: faster spool up? lower EGT? the girlies jockin' ya more 'cuz ya got shiny bits? LOL
Well, it is a little to preliminary for a full report. The turbo does seem to have that really cool jet engine turbine sound now though. You can also hear it spool down when you park! I will get more results for you fellas soon, such as spool up, egts naked and when pulling etc.
The ATS housing will cure surge, nothing more. You will not see any real drop in EGT's and there is no added HP with it.
Loved mine thou, its just not a performance mod.
Thanks for the info Joe. I want more HP and will be doing injectors soon. I wish there was a perfect combonation of which turbo and injectors to get. Would save me lots of searching.
Joe hit the nail on the head I installed an ATS last year and it cured all my surge running empty & towing. I love mine. The only change is the turbo whistle has a better sound over stock.
