Emergency Brake

I have a 1999 Ford F550 7.3 Powerstroke Diesel. I have a problem with the truck dying whenever I release my emergency brake. It is a manual. Do you know what this could be caused by?

no its not normal, maybe some wires are grounding out causing the truck to die. try diging around under there and see if anything looks out of the ordinary.

Looked @ Ground Wires

Thank you for responding, I already checked the ground wires, someone else also suggested this might be the problem. Problem still not solved.

does it kill the truck if you release it slowly?

No, if I release it slowly by holding my foot on the e brake & letting it raise slowly it will not kill. It only does it if I just pull the release.

almost seems like there is something loose. maybe a ground or a fuse even. hopefully someone else will chim in for ya with better help.

Isn't the computer down there next to the parking brake? Sounds like the shock is messing up the computer or the connection. My guess would be the ECM.
