that is not soot..that is oil from the ccv..this why we do a ccv mod...(you can find the ccv mod in my mods and fixes link in my sig) the driver side valve cover has a dog house on it for blow by..ford runs it to the air intake..when the boots start to loosen.. that oily mist starts to seep out of the boots..then dirt starts to stick to it...IH runs the ccv down to the ground..this is what most of us do to keep the engine clean..i made a ccv filter for mine last weekend to stop the smoke blowing from under the truck....so far it is doing its Job..nice truck for 15,500

I would be more concerned why the coolent is so low..And why no warranty, just as is for a nice looking truck like that...

What is the standard warranty on these? I was looking at another 350 with 95k on it and was told that there was 5k left on it..

The warranty is 5 year 100,000 miles. I also noticed the coolent was low also.

That could be a very nice truck.

What is the reserve on the truck or do you know. Looks like a good truck, good luck on what you decide to do.

the biggest issue on the coolant is the fact that it is green!!! 2002 and up 7.3's came from the factory with gold coolant (no coolant additive needed) so why is there green coolant in it and has it been maintained....?
