95 f-150
Kind of a weird one here. My dad has a 95 f-150 and it has a remote starter on it. You can start it with the car starter but not with the key in the ignition cylinder. If you try it with the key, the dash lights will come on in accessory position and dim in crank position, but starter won't turn engine over. If started with car starter, engine will start,put key in ignition and rotate to run, everything is ok. However, when you press the brake pedal the abs light comes on, the odometer goes blank,the door chime doesn't work. He also said that the speedometer doesn't work, overdrive light is flashing, and transmission bangs when shifting. He had a blown fuse a little while back, I believe #15 or 18 not sure which. We checked all fuses inside and under hood, all ok. We checked power at fuses, 15 and 18 were hot only with engine running, with key in run and engine off they were not. We are kind of leaning toward it being a problem with the car starter, any thoughts and advice appreciated.
