what year is your truck supposed to be...glove box tags were used until 63 as I recall...64 up the tags were on the LH door...for the true VIN, check the RH frame rail on the topside and about parallel with the front crossmember...the numbers are about 1/4" high...and easily seen unless frame is badly rusted.
It's a '66 longbed standard cab. It was repainted in '85 in a creamy white and red two tone. White is the primary color, red is the tone.
The numbers I posted are from the door tag.
The glovebox tag has the same number F10AL852574 on it. The tag is not fixed to the glovebox, but is IN the box. I thought it fell off and was going to ask where to attach it. So, where was this tag (plate)?
The tag is attached on the rear of the LH door below the latch. Its riveted to the door.
The rest of the code is: DSO-63= Memphis and 281 = 2= Medium blue crush vinyl & blue wicker pattern vinyl.
81 is a conventional cab truck
This is a base model truck...has a round speedo most likely and not a Custom Cab model as I recall it being said that if theres a letter/s in front of the 81 and followed by a B thats a Customcab truck(an A would be a std cab though it seems not all were stamped on the door tags)
