Driveshaft swap
I am need of a driveshaft for my 78 ford shortbed truck( someone took mine), I am not having any luck finding onefor a 78! I have one from a 80 F-150 shortbed, but it is smaller in diameter then the one that was in my 78, does anyone know if this will create a problem ... such as a vibration or anything else? Length wise it will work, but it is definitly smaller in diameter!

The diameter should be ok, but there are 2 different size "u" joints used and you could run into this but it not a major problem. They make a "u" joint that has both sizes in one, a long and a short side ,cup size is the same, made to solve this problem. Unless you're running a BIG horsepower engine , the driveshaft will be fine.

i may be going from a larger dia. to a smaller one when i do my 203 to 205 swap dont think dia. will matter. some of the smaller shafts are actually stronger cause of the thickness of the tube wall.
