off idle power drop

long post here...my 83 f100 302 2v has a power drop off right off idle when accelerating. it acts like its leaning out, if u accelerate mildly off a stop, it will take off ok, but then the revs will drop , but u give it gas and it revs right up. i like 2 accelerate slowly, for fuel ecomony, but i kant anymore with this problem. i have a 3.16 gear, 31 inch tires, aod. my original gear was 3.55. my stock timing was 6 or 8 degrees , but i have it set at 10. i rebuilt the engine a few years ago and installed a tow/rv cam. i rebuilt the carb a couple months ago. secondary ignition is in good shape(spark plug gap, wires, rotor, cap). if i drive the truck more agressive, it drives just fine, but i can almost make the engine die acclerating off a stop if i get in the gas slowly. one thing i havent checked is the vacuum advance. engine runs good at highway speeds, and idles great. any ideas?

You might try advancing the timing a bit more. Keep going a couple of degrees at a time until you start to get a knock with a load at part throttle then back it down two - four degrees from there.
