Hi guys,
My friend has an 1985 F250 5.8l, C-6, 4X4. This thing is leaking oil like crazy from the valve covers and has a bad lifter or two. In the next couple of weeks we are going to install a cam kit and reseal this thing. What I am wondering is would it be worth while to install a 3 key double roller timing set on this motor (like you do with the 400) to get a little more power, or is the stock position all you really need. The main use of this truck is towing, (a cab-over, and a firewood trailer). The cam kit he is planning to use is summit part # sum-k4400. Any help as usual is appreciated.
