This is my first post so bare with me. I have a black 2006 F150 5.4L SC 4X4 and I really want to replace the grill and tailgate badges with black oval badges instead of blue. I read in another thread of a site called billetbadges.com that I checked out but the site was a bit "cluttered" I guess is a good way to describe it. Can anyone tell me how good their product is or give any other suggestions. I would greatly appreciate it
I have been researching black emblems as well. I dont think billetbadges can copy the Ford logo because of copywright or trademark or something. I found these guys that make decals:
I saw a site that makes black ford decals that go over the existing grill and tailgate emblems. Google search "Ford Decals" and you should be able to find it.
Instead of replacing the oval, how about a transparent dark tint vinyl over the top. I've not cut one yet, but do cut clear vinyl to cover these badges for protection from rock chips. Can cover the badge for about 5 bucks for the same look. Plus the advantage of have some protection to prevent chipping and de-lamination below the plastic surface.
No problem. As soon as there on several pics. will be taken and posted.
Also I hear you ReAX, and I"ll keep it more hush-hush. Thanks.
checked the site out... right now this is what it says....

What is a Domed Decal?Domed Decals are manufactured to meet or exceed automotive quality standards. This clear polyurethane doming protects the label and makes it more attractive and appealing. The 3D Doming process also makes the label/decal highly visible.
It Sticks and Stays! Domed Decals will work on an array of materials and inks. Doming will also adhere to most surfaces including curved, rough, smooth and soft. The doming resin will flow and conform to a variety of shapes and sizes. The polyurethane doming resin will not discolor, crack or harden. This protects the decal from the harshest environment and is resistant to temperature and moisture extremes. And, easy to install! Please Note: WX Signs is not responsible for the clear coating on the OEM Ford Emblems when the Domed decals are removed. The adhesive may or may not leave residue marks which may not be removable.
Wow, those are very nice! The closest i have found to this is patriotdecals.com. He does the emblem layovers in any color/pattern you want. The site you fellas mentioned shows alot more than the one that i found.
Yeh, I have the overlays I just have not had the time to put them on. I hope to have them on in the next couple of weeks though. As soon as I can get them on I will post pics. Sorry for the delay.
Just a heads up: the overlays appear to be good quality and apparently are applied a lot like window tint, just in case anyone was wondering.
you can also take the OEM badges off and repaint the inserts. After taking off heat them up with a hair dryer and peel the coating and paint from the back side of the emblem. Then repaint them black and reseal with epoxy. You can find this mod on F150online.com. Look in the HOW TO section.
