Whats this

I never realized but on the driver side by the cab under the hood, there are two of these things, I don't know what they are or what they went to but apparently they no longer go to anything because all it had was a wire going to the hot side on the battery then the two were connected together then went no where... I was maybe thinking they were relays for a trailer brake but im not sure of it. Anyone got ideas?

Could be part of a trailer or truck camper battery charging/isolation system..... I had similar.

Does your heater blower have multiple speeds? They almost look more like the resistors for multiple fan speeds or ballast resistors for a fuel pump to me.

Just a thought....

those were most likely for a trailer brake controller.

Every old ford pickup I ever saw had a trailer brake controller in it.

rmalottwtes30, Have you been able to trace where the wires are going?

They are also used a lot in conjunction with a relay for aftermarket lights. The PO might have taken his off-road or driving lights off before he sold the truck.
I'm with waltmiller222, the first thing I do with a truck when I get it is trace down all the wiring and get rid of the crap people add on or wires etc. that lead nowhere.
I bought one truck that had speaker wire going directly to the battery and then laid right across the engine to an electric fuel pump. I'm suprised it didn't burst into flames on the way home. I learned why people say "DON'T BUY A TRUCK IN TRHE DARK!"
If you're wondering....yes it was a Dodge.

Well the wire that seems to use to run to it but was cut was runnin toward the rear of the truck but stopped by the rear end like it was cut off there also. There was also a wire that was still attached running from the relays in the picture to the battery. But I have taken it all off not.

bigred's almost definitely right about the trailer battery charge wire. But I can't see why you'd need two. Now that I look closer it looks like they are wired in sequence, thats wierd!

It looks to me like the wire between the two circuit breakers feeds power to the rear one.

More Amp capacity - might have not had the larger wire
