Dtc P0401
Insufficient EGR flow...from what I've read it's common to the DPFE failing. I replaced it this evening and will see if the code comes back. Can I expect better mileage if the DPFE was the culprit for the code?

MAF sensor
Try cleaning or swapping out the Mass Air Flow sensor; located in the air intake system; normally between the air filter and the engine. Had the same problem with my old '97 XLT. Cleaning the MAF solved the problem temporarily however replacing the MAF solved the problem permanently.

Thanks for the reply...I had replaced the MAF (IAC too) about 1.5 years ago. I took the old DPFE apart to see what was inside, it was full of crud. Since I replaced the DPFE the CEL has not come back on.
