Hard 1-2 shift on AOD?? (code E)1993
I have a friend who has a 1993 F150 with the 5.0 and the AOD-E?? (Ithink)(its trans code "E") anyway its doing the same thing as my '94s 4R70W did before when the typical 1-2 acumulator spring breaks.......well with this AOD-E trans I am not familiar with what the problem could be.....all the rest of the shifts are fine, any ideas??? Thanks!

The trans code E is for the E4OD. The AODE you are referring to is the 4R70W. I have the E4OD as well and sometimes experience the hard 1-2 shift. not sure what it is but when you disconnect the battery it goes away.

the first thing to check is the codes
even if there is no lite on
second is to check the manual lever position sensor (?)

OK then his truck has the E4OD (code E) and what we are saying is that there is no known "quick" "cheap" cure for the hard 1-2 shift as with the 4R70W trans?? when you disconnect the battery you are essencially re-setting the computer......how long does this "fix" last?? any other ideas?? Thanks!
