Hi i have a 1958 f250 truck and im trying to figure out what gear ratio i have in the rear end now when i look on the identification plate located in the back side of the glove box. under axle it says 06 dont know what that means but i know top speed is 67 mph . Does any one know what 06 means?
Keith,My '59 F250,which has a Dana/Spicer rear-end,had 4.56 ratio, which I just had changed for better economy. There was a metal tag indicating the ratio secured by one of the diff. cover bolts. If yours is like mine,it might be difficult to see with nearly 50 years of hardened grease.Probe/scrape with a screwdriver.Steve.
Im not sure ill have to check tomarrow. but i know that my truck is a 3/4 ton with eight lug bolt pattern. Hey what does your says on the identification plate on the reverse side of the glove box door? i know some say 04 and some say 06 which is what mine says. well thats for the info and ill post what i find on my axle tomarrow.
well i crawled under the truck and scraped off 50 years of greese to see what axle i have and at first it looked like it said 80 but im thinking that is a dana 60 .
