I have a 84 f150 straught 6 4.9 runs great but did not pass smog. They said egr silinoid. There is a bank of 3 silinoids 1 to egr and 2 too what ever on the valve cover.no one seems to have them any sugestuions.
You may need to test the solenoid to make sure it's the problem. Also, if the other solenoids look the same, you possibly could swap them to get the egr working. Cross your fingers that the others don't have that important a job as far as emissions.

They do though.
The other two controls the thermactor system. Thermactor air bypass and Thermactor air diverter solenoids.

Im not a moron but how would you test it? Does it get power out of the fuse box? its missing two fuses nothing on fuse box.
On the 5.0 the EGR control solenoid and TAB/TAD solenoids have different plug configurations. You might want to check that before you consider swapping them on the 4.9.

Green Sales & Dennis Carpenter's NOS websites: ZERO
Suggestion: Contact ftepartsguy.com and ask Ed to run the number on Ford's dealer obsolete parts locator system.

I looked at a vehicle (my wife's company truck) and got the number off it. E1TZ-9D474-A .. EGR Solenoid Vacuum Valve Assy-DIST OBSOLETE
That's the little bugger I need. My friend at Ford said the same thing Bill. Obsolete. He also looked it up through the nationwide dealer parts locator to no avail. Thanks for the help BTW.
I have three extras of the Thermactor ones that I've salvaged. They also sell this set at kragen for my vehicle although I would have to fabricate a bracket. The solenoids are the same but the bracket is different.
