Information please

I just purchased a F-150 XLT 4X2 EX Cab Long Bed With a 5.7 L And 3.08 Rear Gears

I just wanted some info on this rear end.

whats it good for.

not to many people are formiliar with it

Information please

What year is it? Its a 5.8L not a 5.7L (the 5.7L is a chev).

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 30-May-02 AT 05:41 PM (EST)]Most half ton trucks after 81 came with the 8.8 inch rear axle.
to see for sure look on the same line of the tag where it says 308 and it will say 8 8
This is a good rear end though not the best under high loads but good for daily usage.

Information please

If its an 8.8, then all the aftermarket internals made for the 5.0 mustangs will bolt right in. I would suggest ditching those sleepy 3.08's and getting something more along the lines of 3.75's or 4.11's.
