I just checked my sources. Sadly my price guide is 6 years old. Time to get a new one. 6 years ago a rear tank my cost was $157.14 It would be close to 200 today.
If I knew you needed a tank I already had some off a truck here when you came up. They would of just needed to be steamed cleaned. I kept them stored with the openings downward to keep moisture out.
When I checked around it was $150 to get the tank cleaned and coated. I wish I would have know then that the tank was so dirty because I would have taken one of you tanks in a heart beat.
When I first started going to school I bought a set of craftsman and westward tools, Since I have been out in the work force I have been getting snap-on and mac tools. I then put the old tools in my garage at home so if I need a tool at home I don't have to run to work when I want to work on the '79!
i try not to bid on more than one high ticket item at a time... like you said, ends up being pretty expensive and scary when "someone" finds out...
No big ticket items for me on ebay most of the stuff I get is about 50 max just had a real string of them the last week and my fun money is running out.

I have my good tools at the farm and my princess auto tools in the garage for putting around
i watch canadian tires sales and have accumulated a sweet few sets of the maximum series which seem to be pretty decent. they do what i need them too without hurting me in the process.
i'm happy with it so far. i used them when i rebuilt my yz250, and now on the truck and many little things in between. for me its all i need. decent quality for the weekend warrior.
There is nothing wrong with craftsman, westward, mastercraft, ect they all have lifetime warranty. I use my tools everyday and for my living, that's why I went with snap-on and mac.
Sears is has been sucking for the last 20 years. I hardly get there tools anymore. When A rachet goes, they give you a rebuild kit with tiny bearings. You are to take it home and do it yourself. Westward and snap on , Macs they exchange the ratchet. I been finding sears to do this with more of their tools which then becomes a pain in the ****.
Talk to other guys they say they don't have time to spend a hour or more trying to rebuild a tool that has springs and little bearings that fall all over the place.
