There are four bolts that hold the pulleys to the balancer, you should be able to remove these and remove the pulleys without even pulling the crank bolt, so that would probably be the best option.

I'm putting in some spacers so i can drive it to the Auto Hobby shop on base. I need to get an impact wrench on it.

I've never heard of an idler pully on a 390 either. The alternator should line up with the inner groove and the PS should line up with the outer groove. Otherwise you've got something wrong.
