Im trying to hookup some backup lights on a switch.
Its a lighted switch with 4 connections?
My mind seems to be going blank as I cant figure out how to make it work?
I know 1 will be hot and 1 will be ground but whats the other 2?
I am not sure myself. Those light switches are weird, because of the ground terminal for the light. You might have to get a ohmmeter and figure it out with that.
My guess is 2 are for the circuit you're making\breaking, 1 is for the light power and 1 is for the light ground assuming the grounds are isolated. The switch internally closes the light circuit when you close the main circuit. Like posted above though, you should ohm it out to make sure. You'll have to do that anyway to know which pins are for what, even if I guessed right.
I had it working by guessing but it was backwards.
The light went out on the switch when I turned it on instead of the other way around.
Easy you say ............just switch 2 wires around.
Nope I tryed that and it wouldnt work at all?
