I searched several threads but didn't really find what I was looking for. I have the 2V V-10 and want to put dual exhaust on it. I'm going to go with a sid exit with stainless rolled tips. My question is should I go with two mufflers or single in dual out. I have always used the two muffler method in the past. I used the 40 series on my silverado's and Titan's. Should I go with the 40 or Super 40? Some say the V-10 sounds like crap with the exhaust but i've heard some good sound clips. I want a nice deep rumble with no popping. I don't want it to be cherry bomb loud but I want it to sound like it means business. Thanks for the help in advance.
The Banks muffler gives a nice deep rumble. It was deemed to loud inside on my Excursion but wouldn't give that problem in a PU. Want it? 3" in 3.5" out.
If everything else is still factory like cats and y the FM 40 will sound real nice but if you plain on changing those things then go with the 70 series, i have dual 40 right now and put in the replacement y pipe with no cat and it is fricken LOUD. this summer im most likely going to the 70 series.
I would go with the single in dual out personally, its alot cheaper and a little easier to do
When i bought the truck it had the 40 with everything factory except the cat was cut out and it sounded real nice. it had a low rubble at ideal and no flutter and didn't get loud until like 3500 rpm and even then it wasn't bad.
Go with a single 3" in/ dual 2.5" out muffler. I would go with the FM50 SUV due to its larger capacity. The 40 series and 44 series are very small mufflers.

That sounds like the route i'll take. I plan on getting the e-bay y-pipe as well and having it all done at once.
on the 10ers, m personal favorite is the FM series mufflers. or if you don't go with a FM look into another "baffle" style muffler. they seem to sound the best on a V10.
