Tips for spraying paint
I am just looking to see if anybody has some tips for the next steps like spraying the actual paint(avoid running, flake control, anything),or any tips for spraying clear.
Also I am using the nason line of paint in this order (2k primer-ful-base basecoat-nason select clear),is there any tips or things that I should be aware of with this paint system
Thanks again guys
The gun should be about 8-12 inches away from the panel and dont tilt your gun either keep it parallel with the car at all times. I have never used Nason b4 so I cant tell ya how that sets up.
When spraying hoods & trunks spray the length of the lid and then change to a different cross pattern after first layer is complete. Do about 2 or 3 diff patterns going across the hood, roof (if possible) and trunk. You will have adaquately covered the area and have less of a chance of missing a spot.
Spraying clearcoat is almost the same as base but depending the clearcoat and temperature and humidity and how fast you are moving determines the amount of dripping or runs or orange peel will occur.
So make sure you have a place thats decently dry atmosphere if it is not a paint booth. But if you are painting in a GARAGE spray the floor down with water so no dust comes up into the paint and I suggest hanging plastic sheeting up around so you dont paint your other belongings at the same time.
Also whatever the paint manufacturer recommends for amount of coats I would add onemore to get the impurities out such as gauges n tiny dips. Primer is where the paintjob quality starts so if thats good your end result will be good also.
