Red Sox Healing Old wounds..

Did anyone see the opening day ceremony??

It was another spectacular show...

It was also nice how they included al the Boston champs from The Bruins, Patriots, Celtics, and former Red Sox...

The icing on the cake for the whole thing was they had Bill Buckner throw out the first pitch..

I thought that was a classy thing to do..

I don't know about you, but I think it may have finally healed the festering wound from 1986...

With seeing the 2004, 2007, and the Large American flag draped over the green monster it makes you glad to be a Boston fan and an American..

Buckner got a bad rap for his infamous 1986 World Series game six error. Boston had every bit as good of chance to win it in game seven -but didn't.

I can't imagine the weight some people put on Buckner's shoulders for that error.

It was great to see. I just watched the re-broadcast on NESN. Buck had a few tears in his eyes.

That guy could be in the HOF with his career numbers but that one play will never let him in.

Not quite as bad as Bartman, but there again, a game six snafu, and the Cubs could have won it in game seven.

It happens all through sports - guys have very good , even great careers, but end up being known for one bad thing that happened at the worse possible time. Tom Neidenfuer with the Dodgers, Scott Norwood of the Bills, Jim Marshall of the Vikings. They have to live with that,or in the sad case of Donnie Moore, are unable to live with it.

Good to see them put the issue behind them. I remember the game like it was yesterday...there were a lot of reasons why the game reached that point...that one was the most memorable. I see replays all the time and change the channel...just like I do when they run replays of the Bucky Fuc..n Dent pop up that went into the screen in '78!!!

Just a shame about what happened to Donnie Moore!!!

That was a real nice tribute, for sure.
I was a redsox fan in '86, right up until, well, you know. Lost money on that series.

For those of you that were too young to remember or just want to reminice.

Sporting News: Baseball History of the World Series

I wonder what happened to Calvin Schiraldi???
