2005 F350 Fuel Gauge 'sticking'
Hello all, we like to keep our fuel tank full so when it gets down to 3/4s we fill it up. Last week when we were at 3/4s we started the truck up to go and top it up and noticed we were almost full? We drove for the week and the fuel level didn't change. We also started to hear an audible warning 'ding, ding, ding' when we entered or exited the truck. We thought the two issues were unrelated, but yesterday when we got in the truck the 'ding, ding, ding' had stoped and when we started the truck we were just over 1/2 a tank? This morning we got in the 'ding, ding, ding' had started again and it seems the gauge is stuck again. Anyone aware of a similar issue?

I have an 1987 F250 Diesel and Ford seems to have a problem with gages. My oil pressure gage started out on the low side of normal and would drop to the bottom of normal after running at highway speed. I put a real oil pressure gage in a "t" with the original gage and it runs 50 psi cold,45 psi hot with idle at 15/20 psi hot. The gas gage is simular. The back tank gage reads close to realistic but the front gage reads full till the tank is down to 1/4 full then drops like a rock. I removed the tank and cleaned the connections but no change. Good luck!!!
