BTW you will love your truck. But beware of PMS (powerstroke mod syndrome)
Oh good. somebody close. I just moved here from Harriman, TN. and I am still living in my camper till I sell the old house. Know of any houses with property for sell near here. I have a great realtor and we have been looking at many houses but not found the right one.
Also there are a few Tenneseans here; TNDIESEL is on the other side of Nashville and a couple others but I can't remember their names. One is this side of Knoxville and I think some from Memphis. Glad you are close. Let us know if you need any help with anything.
Neal, if you're working with a realtor I can't make any suggestions about properties. I work as a realtor part time and we have all sorts of laws about even talking to another agents client. If things don't work out with your realtor I would be glad to help though.
As far as the truck goes, I do have a few questions already. The door sticker says it should have 235/75 tires but it has something like 285/75 on it. The speedo is only off about 3 mph at 60 (I was thinking it would be more than that). Does that sound about right or could the speedo have been recalibrated to match the tires and it's just not exactly right? I would like to put stock size tires back on but don't want the speedo to be off worse than what it is now.
Most of the reading I've done has said the fuel filter needs to be changed every 15k miles. Do most people change them that often or is it like a gas engine where they say change them every 25k miles but you can really get about 20 years out of them?
the fuel filters are realy easy to change, and they dont cost that much, id change it every year or so depending on how much you drive, and occasionaly drain off the fuel filter bowl to remove any watter
Mine has 295 tires and the speedo is off 2-3 mph so yours will be fine with the 235 tires.
I usually try to change the fuel filter every 2-3 oil changes but once a year may be fine depending on your miles driven.
Thanx for the realtor help. I am happy with mine for now but I always ask because alot of houses in this are are for sale by owner and the realtors have a hard time finding them.
