Oil sending unit

Hey guys, I'm in the process of dropping in a 360 in my 66 and had a question. Its coming out of a 71 f250 and the p/o had placed a different style oil gauge under the dash. When I went to check the gauge it just has a line from the gauge to a spot right before the oil filter. so it runs right off the pressure. I was wondering if anybody could help me figure out how to set up the electronic gauge for my 66.

The electric and mechanical work from the same hole and either can be run. With a tee both can be run at the same time.

Is there anything I need to so the gauge would sense the pressure?

Yes, Either would have to have a sending unit. Which is on the engine now?

a Clear plastic tube that goes straight to the gauge

just replace the tube with the correct sending unit for the 66 and hook the wire up should work great.

If I reread you post correctly, you are wanting to add an electronic gauge, if yes the new gauge will have everything to replace the sending unit and hose.
