Tire Question

Purchasing new tires. This is my street truck, so i want a nice smooth riding tire. The tires on the truck right now are 235/85r/16. What is ya'lls advice? The people here have not lead me wrong yet!!! I hope someday to have info that i can pass on. Is this the correct size. i know the speedometer is about five mph slow.

It's probably a bit tall(ratio being the "85r"), that is why speedo reads slow(tires with larger circumference will roll farther with each revolution). Probably had a 70's series type tires on it originally. The taller tires will help with mileage a bit(taking the rear gear out of it a touch).

I like BFG tires(radial t/a's), but mine have all been on 1/2 tons. I suppose price will determine what you will get in the end? You can get ride out of even the toughest tire if you don't pump them up to max air pressure.
