Two Transmission Questions

hey again!

first question: Im having a hard time getting my tranny to shift 1st to 2nd all other shifting is great. ive done a number of brake stands and burnouts over the last year and im 100% sure thats what screwed it up but was wondering. What u guys thought was causing it to do this?

second question: How much ATF does the E40D transmission take(tranny and torque converter combined)? im gunna change the tranny fluid in it and was wondering

Thanks

What does the shift from 1 to 2 do? does it seem like its taking too long to upshift (high RPM?)? If so it could be a valve hanging up in the accumulator body. Pretty common in high mileage tranny's.

If your truck is 4wd it will take around 15 quarts or so if you drop the pan, change the filter and drain the torque converter. Might take up to 17 quarts. Always good to have more than you need!

I am no tranny expert but it sounds like the valve sticking to me. I think there is a fix for it but I don't know what it is.
