I bought my truck last week and today I looking over some things. When looking in the front wheel wells I noticed it looked like something had been removed, not too long ago from the truck frame. I took some pics. It must have gone from the left wheel well to the right.
I am wondering if this could have been some sort of attachment point for a plow. If not, what might have been connected there?
That pic was driving me crazy so I went outside to look at mine and I took a pic. The holes are definitely from something that was aftermarket. Barry could right about a front receiver hitch.
There's a good chance Barry has never had the bad luck to see a snow plow (LOL) but those holes are pretty heavy duty looking for a front hitch. I would bet on a plow also.

Here's mine:
Oh yeah, and DAMN Scott!!! Do you get an echo in that wheel well??????
That looks awesome!!
One thing to note is the blocker beam is still there(and doesnt look to be recently installed). My Boss plow required its removal. Dont know about other brands, but would assume it would be in any plows way.
Now I'm glad I got a 100K warrantee on the truck. I wonder how long before I get tranny problems...
Any idea where I might look to see where they could have run the plow controls in from the outside? I don't see any signs of that.
There is only one group of wires that come inside the cab if it was a western and the group with the sheath on it is less thick that your pinkie finger. I brought mine in through a grommet near the pedal assembly on the fire wall. If the guy didn't beat the tranny too hard, you should be alright. Don't sweat it. Some people work their plow trucks hard and some do very small jobs and maybe that is what yours did.
