New engine

Recently turned over 200,000 miles on my 1996 Eddie Bauer, 5.8 efi. I'm thinking about either a new engine or having mine "refreshed" professionally. Alas, I'm not quite at the stage where I can send it up to Roush Motors for the "refreshing" but if I keep the same engine I would like a slight cylinder bore to clean the walls, etc.. I'm sure not looking for a fast way to get a speeding ticket but, it always nice to have a little extra when you need it.

Any suggestions? I'm open to all, I'll try to take the best and go from there.

Might be best to take this to the small block engine forum

If by "refreshed" you mean a full rebuild, you'll still be dishing out a lot of cash. It depends on the condition of your engine block, heads, crank, etc. It also depends on what kind of speed parts you want to put in. The rebuild would be less expensive than a new Roush motor, but it may not be by much.
