2005 SD's

Do the 2005's need any aftermarket supplemental cooling mods for towing?

I'm looking very closely at a 2005 and have it on hold. It just came up yesterday and I put a hold down payment on it until I can get to see it.

Truck is a 2005 F350 CC Lariat LWB V10 (natch) 4X4 with either the 4.10 or 4.30 (trying to get verification but I would not care either way). Truck is low miles (less than 15,000) and the oasis came back with the clip replacement and something about bent passenger seat bolts making it sit off-center. Bolts were replaced and the seat was fixed. Nothing else on it.

Carfax checks out as well. Truck spent its life in sunny Southern California until recently.

I've been told its very clean but that's the dealer talking.

Criminy, I have not even seen a picture of the dang thing yet! Hope its good. If things go well I'll be a V10 BSEG member before long.

And to think, I darn near bought a low mileage 7.3L PSD Friday.....

The only cooling mod I can think of that is a good idea, is to add a proper gear style hose clamp to all your rad hoses.

I made mine work once on a windy day and it blew the top rad hose right off. Good thing I was pulling my holiday trailer, and had some water and tools with me to fix it on the road. ****y factory clamps, and plastic tanks on the rad. Service manager at the dealer I used, said it is kind of a common problem.
