Hiboys are 3/4 ton - F250.
Are you looking for a lifted 1/2 ton (F150)? If so, what years would you be interested in? What condition?

Yes and no - about 1973 was when Ford started badging the F150. By 1975 you could not get a 4wd in the F100 line.

The term "High Boy" is not official Ford nomenclature, it's an enthusiasts term.
Originally, High Boys were 1973 thru 1977 = before serial number Y20,001, F250 Regular & Crew Cab 4WD's.
Some ppl here also call 1967/72 F250 4WD's High Boys.
F100 or F150 4WD's are not High Boys.
No 360 engines were used after 1976.
1977/79: 300 I-6's / 351M & 400's were installed in 4WD's.
No 460 4WD's till 1983, and F150 4WD's didn't come with 460 engines.
WillyB = first F150 = 1975.

Here is a link to a thread I started after a member told me I don't have a highboy. As Number mentioned, highboy was not an official term. I don't think bumpside (67-72) and dentside (73-79?) were official terms either.

One of the first and most important things I've learned on FTE is Bill (numberdummy) is THE MAN for getting crucial information fast. He has saved me three times that I remember.
As for trying to find a 1/2 or 3/4 ton 4X4, keep an on Craiglist. Good luck

I see F150s out here now and then. I will keep my eyes open.
Are you willing to travel over the Sierras for a purchase?
I assume that you are looking for a pre-1975, as smog isn't an issue with them, correct?

Here's what we've got on Craigslist in my neck of the woods.
Ford F250 Highboy 4X4 lifted <--Sunnyvale
1974 xlt ford 250 w/camper 4x4 runs <--Sunnyvale
1979 FORD BRONCO <--Watsoneville
Like everyone before said, just keep an eye out. These pop up all the time. Especially in Cali with the smog laws and gas prices, a lot of folks are selling their V8 4x4s. It's a good time to buy a gas guzzler right now, that's for sure!

Yeah...see what you forget to remember, sometime in the last few years, '32 Roadsters names were changed to "GOLD".
