Installing upfitter switches/brake controller

My father just picked up the upfitter switches and brake controller at an auto wrecker. We were wondering if all the wire harnesses are in the dash or does he need more than the dash mount pieces? Hoping he can just pop out the plastic and install.

The wires for the upfitters are behind the insulation but you can't install the brake controller without replacing the master cylinder. the brake controller is pretty advanced and responds to the amount of pressure sensed from the master cylinder instead of just when the brake lights go on like most.

You will also need the relay pack, that goes behind the glove box.

You will also need your PCM reprogrammed for the Tow Command option.

What year truck is it going into? A pre-'05 doesn't have a computer that is capable of recognizing the brake controller.

Thanks for the info. It is going into an 05. Does it still need all those things. I am sorry for not being specific.

Yes, even with a '05 you would still need the correct master cylinder and after the install it would need to be taken to the dealer for PCM reprogramming.
