I'm nauseous. WOW!....WHY??

Can you say Honda Ridgeline on steroids?

Maybe it's a good thing Ford's out of development money.

Looks like ford rammed the longest car they could find into a solid steel barrier, and whats what they came up with. It seriously looks like an over sized sedan with a bed, not a truck.

Do the people who design this crap honestly think that it looks good?

They're reaching beyond a truck paradigm with it - it takes it's name from a Santa Fe railroad engine from back in the fifties and sixties. Beginning in 1937, it set standards for luxury rail transportation between Chicago and Los Angeles right up until Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe discontinued passenger service in 1971.

The late '30's actually...
But at least it looks purposeful and tasteful.

Those were always my favorite train engines.

They also had a driver and seperate "B" unit controlled from the lead engine.

Later cars were developed that had a raised lounge on top with panoramic windows for viewing the countryside going past. I think it was called "Scenic Cruiser" or "Vista Cruiser", and if the latter, guess what car company robbed the name?

That one's been around for awhile, note the article date:
DETROIT, Jan. 8, 2006 – The Ford F-250 Super Chief concept takes truck leadership to a new level – as the world's first vehicle with Tri-Flex fueling, enabling the supercharged V-10 to run for 500 miles between fill-ups on hydrogen, E85 ethanol or gasoline.

I saw it (Lariat97 was with me) at the Memphis auto show, a few weeks back. My impressions are that it resembles it's namesake in more ways than one.

LUXURIOUS, POWERFUL, UNIQUE, STYLISH, TOUGH - but also expensive if you damage it.
Likely also expensive to maintain, but then who buys such a thing without means?

It's a freight train for passengers on the highway. Though I may regret putting it this way, a very large AIRSTREAM trailer would look PERFECT behind it...

*Tail lights are presumably LED's in the strips that go across the back

cab sits to low imo. You'd look out the window, and you'd see hood for miles. Grille doesn't look like it would let nearly enough air to the radiator when towing. Tis a show truck and nothing more, and a pretty ugly show truck at th at.

Take a look at that truck, then this one:

and you can see the influence of both on the 2008 Super Duty trucks (which, IMO, are the UGLIEST trucks Ford has ever allowed to roll out of it's factories).
