Hello, I have an Aunt that owns a beat up but running 84 or 86 ranger 2wd xtra cab. On the dash is a light on saying EMMS which I assume mean emmission system. Am I correct? I tried looking for the diagnostic plug but could not find it in the engine compartment. Where is it hidden? Is it a trouble code? The check engine lite is not on though. I tried disconnecting the battery for several minutes but the EMMS light comes on as soon as you start it. Thanks for any replies.
As for the rest I have a 90 2.3 EEC-IV-EFI & mine is located near the passanger side fender well it has a somewhat "V" shaped plug in & another single gray colored plug in & this was all pushed down under the high amperage fuse box in the same location.
Wish I was more help.
