Can I replace the head unit and still have the DVD function on its own? I would love to put a new stereo with nav in the truck but the kids use the video a ton and I don't want to spring for a new DVD system as well.
So, does anyone know if I swap out the head unit will the DVD work as a stand alone?

You "factory" DVD player is actually an aftermarket system installed by a 3rd party by the dealer.
A good shop will be able to change out the deck and still keep the dvd.
