I have a 89 f250 4x4 351W FI C6 Auto, recently I was having problems with the trans it was reving up real high before it went into 2nd. I dropped the pan and the valve body to make sure their were no shavings or any other debris. Everything ok. So I replaced the valve modulator and the line that goes to the intake, replaced the MLPS and adjusted the intermediate band. I put it all back together and NOW it won't even go in gear. Did I hook up the valve body wrong? If so what is the proper way of doing it? Any help would be great;
Another issue I'm having is when I start the truck it starts but putters a little then dies, unless I give it some gas for a few seconds then its fine, I did adjust my idle after I cleaned the throttle body. Did I adjust it to low? I pulled the codes which were ect,act and tps senors I replaced the ect and act Haven't had a chance yet to replace the tps could that be my issue? Thanks in advance I look forward for your inputs?
When you dropped the valve body, did you notice any little (1/8th") checkballs or "pucks" fall out? Was the gasket torn apart or did you replace the gaskets when you replaced the seperator plate? Did you put the pin back when you replaced the modulator valve? Did you torque the valve body bolts to the specs? Disconnect your negative cable to erase any old codes and start the code reading process with new codes then re-post.
I just unbolted the valve body from the trans i didn't take any of it apart. I did not notice anything fall out. I did put the pin back. it jsut goes in correct? maybe its not in all the way I will check.
