hey guys i was wondering if any of you have put any new seats in your trucks? I just came across some out of a 02 stroke so i took them and put them in! well thay are way more comfortable than my bench seat but now i have no access to my back seat! so i was wondering if any one knows of a good year to get some nice bucket seats out of?
thanks
p.s. sorry i cant post some pics i dont no how to transfer pics off of a camera lol
I put a set of buckets with a fold down center console from a 97? f250 crewcab. The seats slide forward to allow access behind the seat, then slide back to their original position. I had to do a little cutting an welding on the brackets to make them work and also had to put in a couple of new bolt holes in the floor, but they are way better than the bench. The thing I like best about them is that the seats are designed so stuff left on them doesn't disappear between the crack between the seat the the seatback.
I put seats in my 93 F250 extended cab from a wrecked 01 Expedition, I bought them from our local junk yard for $200.00, they are bucket, leather, power, heated seats with the center console to boot, they match my interior almost perfectly.
Trust me, I have rode around in my truck for the last 10 years with the factory bench seat and when I put these in I could not believe the difference they made.
Hey bigblackF250, I'd like to see that. Dounds like a nice mod!
94F250TD,
Look for a landboat with 2 doors and 4 seating positions, or an EX cab pickup with two doors to make sure you have seats that tilt forward. Import vehicles almost by defalt always have seats that tilt forward even on 4 door vehicles (as long as you are happy with grey).
These seats came out of a chrysler cordoba (late 70s).
I made a steel adapter frame for the seats that allowed me to reuse the OEM seat mounts without adding new holes in the floor.
A quick word of caution with replacing seats in these older trucks. If you get newer seats that have integral seat belts be aware that the floor of these older trucks are NOT as reinforced to support that kind of stress in the event of a frontal collision. The weight of the occupants is MUCH more than the weight of the seat itself, so be sure to only use the OEM seatbelts in the truck.
I have a BACK SEAT out of a 2001 F350. Its a bench but has cup holders and it flips down in the middle. I sit up a bit higher but thats how i like to drive. and it gives me great access to behind the seat. All i had to do was move the mounts in wards about 7 inches total. I love it
