I got a F250 crew cab, Id like an in dash dvd + decent speakers and decent amps (that will fit out of the way somewhere) any ideas? Id like 2x 12'' subs but i dont see it fitting.
The whole front half is the Alpine F1 Status system And the rear takes 10 batteries to power the 1 10000watt amp.
You could buy a brand new sub compact car for what i have into it.
Hell It would take me awhile to add up all the little trips to home depot to give an exact amount.
Okay i know dick about car audio... what would be a decent system... (enough to rattle your skull minus the unwanted tears)
and how much would it cost.. say i wanna spend 3000 ?
you can fit 3 10" kicker compvr subs behind the rear seat in a custom built box. I have that in my F250 crew cab running off three profile 1000 watt monoblock amps. i also have polk audio momo 6 1/2" component systems with tweeters that fit into the stock door locations running off 2 JL audio 2 channel 1200 watt amps. I love my system and all said and done was under 3500 dollars

5 amps ??? over kill maybe tho ? i thought id only need 2
you could go that route with two amps. It would work either way. i just got good deals on the amps so i decided to run separate amps to get clean separate power. It would work fine running two larger amps though.
If you get two amps with enough to power everything to their full potential it will be loud enough. The reason i kept everything separate is because i used class D monoblock amps which are specifically for subwoofers. If you have the room, in my opinion it is the way too go. If you are worried about the price, check out a brand of amps called Profile. That is what i run and i love them. They are a new company out of California that really makes quality equipment for a very reasonable price.

Im worried about price and space... I dont wanna see much of it ..
Alpine SPX-17REF 6.5" w/ tweeter components - $300-350 a set
(3) Kenwood Excelon KFC-W1000F 10" shallow mount subs - $90-100 each
As you can tell, I like Alpine...
The F1 series pieces like galaxy is using are the ultimate, but you pay for the ultimate also. I would love to run them, but I can't justify the dollar sign yet...
The Kenwood Excelon shallow mount subs have really impressed me lately, especially because they sound so good and don't need but half the mounting depth.
Prices above are what a retail store will probably hit you up for. You'll see the pieces cheaper on ebay, but that is ebay... take it for what it's worth... Prices on ebay will cut the above prices by about half to a third.
Total above is $2500. Add another $300-500 for install from a shop and you are at $3000.
Then of course there are the other pieces you'll start looking at...
IPod cable - $25
Sat Radio connections - $100
Blackbird Navigation for the Alpine Head Unit - $500
