Hi all; I recently put headers on my '79 2WD, with a straight six. The trans. cooler lines are giving me all sorts of clearance trouble. They won't give me room to put in a starter, and they're butting against the headers, so I'm worried about heat. This is on a C6 and the cooler line fittings are on the same side of the truck as the headers and the starter.
Steel lines aren't too cheap and I'd have to get a flare tool and a bender so I'd like to avoid running new steel lines. Is there anything wrong with running hoses out of the transmission, and then over the top of the tail shaft so that they come out on the other side of the transmission, and then running up to the radiator along the driver's side?
