Truck Broken Into

Well I have'nt been here in a while because I have been enjoying my new rig and I was doing just fine until yesterday. While shopping at the Lowes in Clinton MD with some home owners for a bathroom remodel my truck was completly violated. I we approached the truck we could see the broken glass on the ground but because the windows are tinted it look like a black trash bag but it was my front passenger window. When I got to the truck the dash was ripped out completly. Most of my after market audio was gone. Kenwood DD8019 head unit with sat radio, bluetooth, ipod adapter,nav,back-up cam, two alpine digital amps, and ipod. The only thing they did not take was the JL Audio Stealth box because the could not find it in the center console. The dash is destroyed and the passenger door is all scratched up from the broken glass and what ever they used to break the glass. Now for the ultimate question yes I did have an alarm and it was absolutly worthless(Viper 1002) any ideas on a new alarm would be appreciated.

Sorry to hear about the destruction of your truck. Nothing worse than that violated feeling...

Anyway, did the alarm even go off? If it did not I would be taking it back to who ever installed it and ask what the he!! happened.

Viper makes a good system and they are a division of Directed Electronics who also manufacturers most of the major name alarm systems on the market.

If you were to ask me what brand alarm I would use, it would be Clifford who also happens to be a division of Directed Electronics...

You may want to look into a Clifford or Viper alarm system that has the SST technology with 2-way. The SST systems have a claimed 1-mile range and will notify you on the remote when the alarm or any sensor is tripped. I bought the Viper 5900 SST system for my truck, just didn't get it installed yet.

Alarms are all useless in the long run, probably a busy parking lot and everybody just ignored it going off while thats happening!

How about a Smith and Wesson or a Glock alarm system!! My favorite is the Glock .40.

Did you check with Lowes? A lot of their stores have security cameras set up that has at least a partial view of the parking lot. I'd call them ASAP before the data gets looped over.
