Cab lights

Allright, how the hell do ya change the bulbs? Do you remove the entire light fixcture by way of the 2 screws? I just picked up an old 95 plow truck with 212xxx miles, what can i expect, or get taken care of first? The ol girl seems to run strong.

Yep, just 2 screws to replace the light. Be sure to hang onto the wires or they may disappear down the rabbit hole

212K miles is not a lot of miles...some here have gone over 500K. You might want to replace all the fluids especially the trans fluid & filter...it's the weak link.

Be careful not to hang around here too long or PMS may get you. (Powerstroke Mod Syndrome)....makes your wallet lighter but lots of fun. LOL

^^^ Yup what Jim Said
Get your trans fluid flushed, have the filter replaced at the same time.
Change oil, oil filter and fuel filter.
Get a backflush kit (Prestone or the like) and backflush the coolant. You can either use a green coolant and add SCA additive (DCA4). Or go with a precharged one that already has SCA's

If you're not familiar with Diesels, SCA's prevent air bubbles from forming in the cylinder lining and preventing cavitation (pin holes into the cylinder that allow coolant in)

With a few maintenance stuff, you'll be up and running like a champ!

Next may want to consider a new air filter setup (ditch the stock one entirely) and A new downpipe. These will help your PSD breath better. Congrats on the truck!

Good deal, Not sure on the tranny, but i know they had the oil done not lon ago. the company seemed to have kept up on it, hell thhe front tires don't even toe in or out lke ive seen on most ttb setups. even after i took the plow off and salt spreader out didnt even change the stance really. My dad put in 30 some years in at Cat, so he knows his way arpound a diesel an was even workin at the tech center here in Peoria back when Navstar an Ford had Cat help design the injection system for the PS. Now all i need is a 70's ford with a 3208.... Thanks though, been wantin one of these for years, an got this for $3000.00 Bodys rough, but i got a line on a 94 lightning front clip n doors an a good bed that jus needs the fenderwells fixed.

Good one kawa, but a ounce of prevention...........

Whe you get to the lights you might want to see if you can get the rubber gaskets that go under them or at least seal them with silicone. This is my second truck that had cab lights that leaked water into the cab.

actually, i've heard that in some cases back-flushing a tranny willget little shavings and particles washed back up into the valve bodies and clutch packs

Cab Light Cover needed!

This is an awesome website! Any idea's where I can get a cab light cover? other than Ford? Found one on a website but they wanted more for shipping than the part itself.
Checked local "yards" but not a one with cab lights...
1995 F250 XLT,4x4 PSD, Auto, 4.10's, ....work in progress, from the ground up! and enjoying all the sweat equity I can stand!
To Do list: find the leak in the "valley of Death",6637 mod, better oil filtration _ alittle help / advice here? anyone? Front suspension, kinda toes in....gosh reading this forum... the skies the limit!

I've seen entire 5-light kits at Harbor Freight Tools.

make sure u get the right bulbs... I tried to fit larger bulbs in mine (they gave me the wrong bulbs and I wanted to install anyway) and they ended melting through the lenses.

Also any big rig shop should have the lenses (covers) I bought a whole new set after the event above.

D50 TTB (twin traction beam) sucks IMHO. I just finished up a D60 solid front axle swap...do a search...lots of good info. good luck.
